Final Project Workshop for "Identifying Drowning Hotspots in the St. Louis River Estuary"

This final project workshop is being held for project participants (e.g., Harbor Safety Workgroup members, paddling for science volunteers) and interested community members to share project results and outputs, provide an introduction to the St. Louis River Estuary current model generated through this research, and discuss recommendations for enhancing Paddle Safe Twin Ports and other local water recreation safety messaging based on project findings.

Workshop planning was done in collaboration with the Harbor Safety Workgroup, which is a sub-group of the Duluth-Superior Metropolitan Interstate Council Harbor Technical Advisory Committee's Navigation Subcommittee. The event is being co-hosted by Kelsey Prihoda and Natalie Chin (Climate and Tourism Specialist, Wisconsin Sea Grant).
